New Coach in Town
Dwaine Bryan takes over as manager of Amersham Town following Ryan Luke’s resignation.
Ryan Luke has resigned as manager of Amersham Town first team. Dwaine Bryan, who has been coaching the squad, takes over as manager.
Chairman Simon Damery explained, “Ryan felt that he had taken the team as far as he could and that he should hand over to someone else. We were sorry to see Ryan depart: he had ensured that we retained our place in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League and is well liked in the club. He will always be welcome at Spratleys Meadow,
However, we respect Ryan’s decision and I have asked Dwaine to take over. Dwaine is an experienced coach and is ready to make the step up. He has a good squad of players with which to work and, with a few new additions, I’m hopeful that we will move up the table.”
Dwaine, who has played for Welwyn Garden City and Leverstock Green as well as Amersham Town and coached Leverstock Green and Sun Sports reserves, expressed his pleasure at his new role. “It will be a challenge,” he said. “We have become too used to losing but there is considerable potential at the club and I see it as my job to realise that potential. I will be getting the players ready for our next game at home to Penn & Tylers Green next Saturday in the second round of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy. After that I will be looking for continuous improvement over the season.”
