Amersham Town 3 - 1 London Tigers
Amersham Town have started the New Year in fine form, remaining unbeaten and taking eight points out of the last twelve. As a result they are gradually pulling away from the bottom of the league.
Against London Tigers, who share their ground, the home side dominated the first half and had two very good chances to score in the first ten minutes. However, late into the half they were awarded a free kick wide on the right which was taken by Harry Bennett. His delivery found Kyle Clifford who headed the ball over the Tigers goalkeeper to make it 1-0.
Shortly after, Bennett hit along cross from the right which somehow eluded defenders and attackers alike and sailed into the net to make the score 2-0 at half time.
In the second half Amersham had a number of good chances to increase the lead but to no avail. They were made to pay when Town failed to clear a corner and Tigers forced the ball home. The home team then had to work hard to maintain the one goal difference. However, substitute Kyle Duncan-Johnson intercepted a mislaid pass and hit an unstoppable shot from twenty yards to ensure Amersham gained the much needed three points
