Amersham Town 3 - 2 Raunds Town

Manager James Hall expressed himself pleased at the grit shown by the home club, having twice come from behind to take all three points.

After a scrappy first thirty minutes the visitors took the lead. A cross from the right eluded Town keeper Zac Green leaving the Raunds striker with an easy tap in.

It was not until the second half that Amersham showed true prowess and they equalised after sixty-five minutes. Shammar Swaby drove to the by-line and delivered a low cross for Mark O’Connor to squeeze his shot inside the post. Ten minutes later, however, Raunds restored their lead, again from a cross which, on this occasion, was volleyed into the net by the onrushing forward.

In a tight game Mark O’Connor scored his second from a shot from the edge of the area which slipped beneath the diving Raunds keeper. Amersham left it late for the winner but, in injury time, they took the lead for the first time. A free kick was headed back into the path of Kyle Clifford who lashed the ball into the net. There was still time for Green to pull off a couple of fine save for all three points.
